This 60-hour Training will take place entirely in American Sign Language. It will serve as continuing education for certified ASL interpreters who want to interpret in healthcare settings, which demands a unique set of skills and understanding. Topics will range from ethics and standards of practice, to culture and medical terminology. Certified Deaf Interpreters are encouraged to register.
This is a continuing education series for certified medical interpreters on the intricacies of interpreting for patients in mental health settings. The lectures have been created for Americans Against Language Barriers series by Kelly (Grzech) Henriquez. Each of the 3 parts are accredited for 1 continuing education unit (CEU) through the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) & the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI).
